PSG announce Mbappé has adductor muscle injury

the ace of Paris Saint Germain, Kylian Mbappé, suffered an injury to his left adductor muscle. The announcement, made by the club on Wednesday, did not specify how long the top scorer will have to be out, with less than a month to go before the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League against Real Madrid.

“Kylian Mbappé is being treated for left adductor pain. He will be evaluated on Friday,” said PSG, who will host Reims for the French Championship not Sunday.

One of the most used players by coach Mauricio Pochettino, Mbappé has scored ten goals and provided eight assists this season in Ligue 1. His physical condition is closely watched as the duel against Real Madrid approaches (on February 15, in Paris).

Doubt for this clash, Neymar will be able to start running “at the beginning of next week”, the club wrote about the Brazilian ace, who suffered a sprained ankle in late November.

Lionel Messi returned to training with the group on Tuesday. The Argentinian missed the games in early January to get back in shape after having covid-19 during the holiday season and will be able to play his first match of 2022 against Reims. Finally, Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who was diagnosed with the new coronavirus last week, tested negative on Wednesday.
