A Belgian Manchester City fan was attacked after the English club victory by 5-1 over Club Brugge, this last Tuesday, for the Champions League. The assault took place in the municipality of Drongen, Belgium.
City expressed its solidarity with the fans, who are hospitalized. “Everyone at Manchester City is shocked and saddened to hear reports of an attack on one of our fans after the Champions League game in Bruges last night. We are currently working with our colleagues at Club Brugge as well as with the Belgian and Greater Manchester Police to establish more information. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the family and friends of the fan in Belgium, who remains in the hospital.”

The Brugge also spoke out, saying they “disapprove of any criminal behavior, whether inside or outside the stadium.”
Manchester City players gave the fans messages of strength in the Twitter, such as Laporte and Jack Grealish. According to information from the portal HLN Sports, the fan in question is 63 years old.
City are runners-up in Champions League Group A with six points, one behind Paris Saint-Germain.
