Belgian figure skater Luna Hendrix has announced a fundraiser for a trip to the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. The athlete posted a message with a request on her website.
“I hope to be in Beijing soon to represent Belgium for the second time at the Winter Olympics. However, for this to happen, I need any financial support that I can get, ”wrote Hendrix. The athlete asked fans to help her and make a donation on the site.
Before the start of the European Championship, 22-year-old Hendrix was called the main rival of Russian figure skaters. In the short program, she became second and was able to get around Alexandra Trusova and Anna Shcherbakova, losing only to Kamila Valieva. In the free program, the athlete fell twice, which did not allow her to keep her place on the podium. The figure skater finished the competition in fourth place. The entire podium was occupied by Russian athletes.
Figure skating competitions at the Olympics will be held from 4 to 19 February. Athletes will compete for five sets of awards.
