A scandal before the Poland – Germany match! This is how they treated our staff. “Incredible”

After victories over Austria 36:31 and Belarus 29:20, the Poles will play with Germany for the first place in group D. And for points to the next phase. In it we will play against Spain, Sweden, Norway and Russia (two best from this new six-team group will advance to the semi-finals).

Waiting, not breakfast

It turns out that before the very important match with Germany, the EHF (European Handball Federation) and the organizers of the Slovak part of the championship gave our team a stressful trip.

As we hear, in the morning she was informed that she should immediately appear in front of the hotel, where a coach was waiting to take the team for tests. Most of our players were even before breakfast.

It turned out that the coach was not in front of the hotel. It didn’t arrive for a dozen or so minutes. And he took our representation to a place that can be seen in the above-mentioned short recording published by ZPRP on Twitter.

There were four tests a day. And there was a complaint

– We have to accept it. There’s no other way. We got an order to do these tests from the EHF, not from the Slovaks. Before us, there were Germans for the tests, so this is not an action against our team – Henryk Szczepański, the president of the Union of Polish Press Development (ZPRP), immediately emphasizes.

But no one is suggesting any conspiracy. It is about something else – a huge mess. Before the match with Austria in the 1st round, all of our team passed four tests in just one day! After the fact, it turned out that the Poles went to the match, although not all the results came in.

In addition, the organizers once agreed that our team would go down to the hotel restaurant for a meal, and other times they forbade it. he made an official protest, he complained about the chaos. Unfortunately, the tournament has been going on for several days now and the organization is still terrible.

“We have no choice”. Poland could be excluded from the EC

– We are having a hard time living it all. This is a difficult situation for us. Especially for the players. A few hours before a very important match, they stood outside, in very difficult weather conditions, and waited for their turn [wszystko trwało 30 minut]. It is the fault of the Slovaks how they carry out the tests. The EHF expects us to test ourselves, we have no choice, otherwise we would face severe disciplinary sanctions [z wykluczeniem z turnieju włącznie], but the organizers should ensure good conditions – says the president.

– It’s windy in Bratislava, it’s around 0 degrees Celsius. It is very unpleasant weather. It is incomprehensible to us that the hosts of the championship made our team stand and wait for tests in such conditions. When organizing events, we create the best conditions, and here we meet something like this – Szczepański is nervous.

“This is all incomprehensible.” Poland without 7 players

The president is honest about what he thinks. But at the same time, she emphasizes that you cannot get carried away. – It is difficult, it is what it is, we cannot give in to our nervousness. We cannot stir up negative emotions, we need inner peace before the match with Germany. It is all very difficult, incomprehensible, you cannot accept it internally, but you still have to – he says.

– Emotions are emotions, but now we have to calm down and calmly start the match. We play a good tournament despite difficult circumstances. And we want it to be like that – summarizes the president of ZPRP.

While waiting for the test results, we know that the coach will certainly not be able to take advantage of the seven players who had positive results in the previous days. These are Adam Morawski, Piotr Chrapkowski, Jan Czuwara, Kacper Adamski, Damian Przytuła, Patryk Walczak and Maciej Zarzycki.
