Former UFC champion wanted to beat Peter Yan’s ‘ugly potato’ in Russia

American mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) Henry Cejudo believes he could beat Russian Petr Yan. His words are quoted by MMA Junkie.

The 34-year-old American, who has already retired, is convinced that he will overcome Jan. “I would love to come to Russia and destroy this ugly potato in front of his own compatriots. I will take him to the ground. Yes, he fights well on the stand, that’s a fact. He knows how to work from a distance. But I’m too serious for him. I will outsmart him, ”said Cejudo, known for his performances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Cejudo had his last fight in May 2020. Then he defended the UFC bantamweight belt, defeating Dominick Cruz. In January 2022, Cejudo reasserted himself, calling for a title fight against Alexander Volkanovskiy. The head of the UFC, Dana White, reacted harshly to the words of the ex-champion.

Cejudo is an Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling. He has won UFC bantamweight and flyweight titles.

Yang also became a UFC champion. The Russian lost the title against Aljamain Sterling in March 2021 with an illegal strike.
