Brazilian mixed martial artist (MMA) Gilbert Burns turned to the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White. Post available at Twitter.
The 35-year-old Brazilian asked the head of the promotion to organize a duel against the Swede of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev. Burns published an edited photo where the fighters stand opposite each other, allegedly in a battle of views. In eight hours, the post gained more than 15,000 likes.
Burns has not fought since July 2021. Then the Brazilian was stronger than Stephen Thompson. In February of the same year, Burns lost the fight for the promotion’s welterweight title, losing by knockout to current belt holder Kamar Usman.
Chimaev has not suffered a single defeat in MMA. He has four wins under the auspices of the UFC. He got the first three in 66 days, which was a promotion record. This was followed by a break due to complications caused by the coronavirus.
Chimaev has a reputation as a fighter with whom they try to avoid fights. The Chechen himself repeatedly challenged the stars of the promotion – Usman, Jorge Masvidal, Conor McGregor. Chimaev is ready to fight in different weight categories.
