Michael Estrada and Janner Corozo, the first casualties of the Ecuadorian team against Brazil and Peru for the qualifiers for Qatar 2022

SportCapital Football Agency, which represents the players, reported through its account that both tested positive for the tests they underwent.

Forward Michael Estrada and right winger Janner Corozo are infected with COVID-19 and will be absent for the matches against Brazil in Quito and against Peru in Lima on dates 15 and 16, in that order, for the Qatar 2022 qualifiers.

SportCapital Football Agency, which represents the players, reported through its account that both tested positive in the tests to which they were subjected.

Estrada did not act in the match in which his team, Toluca, beat Santos Laguna 3-1 for date 2 of the LigaMX Clausura tournament. In 15 duels with the Tri, the striker scored 5 goals, accumulating 798 minutes.

Corozo was tested before joining the Tricolor and tested positive, being left out of the work that started this Monday at the National Team. In the tie he has only played 26 minutes.

The matches will be on Thursday, January 27, starting at 4:00 p.m., before the canarinha in Quito; and on Tuesday, February 1 (9:00 p.m.) against Peru in Lima. A victory and a draw, plus other results, ensure the place for the World Cup.

La Tri is in third place in the race towards the highest event in international football with 23 points; there are 6 points that separate it from Colombia and Peru, both with 17, who are fighting for the fourth pass to Qatar. (D)
