Media: Messi’s wife presses for his transfer and chose the perfect club

The contract saga was at the center of the summer transfer window. For a long time it seemed that the Argentinian’s agreement with FC Barcelona was only a matter of time. Everything indicated that there would be an extension, as the club president Joan Laporta repeatedly assured. The reality turned out to be quite different: Barcelona did not have the money to detain Messi, and the seven-time Golden Ball winner was forced to move to PSG.

Spanish media: Messi could return to FC Barcelona!

The move to Paris, however, seems to definitely not serve Leo Messi. The Argentine still cannot fit in with the new team and his statistics so far this season are disastrous. The league play is slowly entering its decisive phase and the 34-year-old has just one goal scored in Ligue 1. In all competitions, the seven-time winner of the Golden Ball has played 16 games, scoring six goals and five assists.

It turns out, however, that not only Messi himself is dissatisfied with his stay in Paris. According to the latest reports from the Catalan daily “El Nacional”, the footballer’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, is also unhappy in the French capital. The Argentinian was about to tell her husband that she no longer wanted to live in a new place and was pushing her to return to … Barcelona. According to journalists, it is possible that the 34-year-old will decide to try to return to Camp Nou himself.

However, it may not be easy, given the still very serious financial problems. Messi signed with PSG until 2023, so the French are sure not to let him go for free, and his former club won’t have the funds to buy him out. In addition, the tense relationship between Messi and the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, may be an even greater problem – the Argentinean’s entourage does not believe in Laporta’s explanations that it was the regulations that prevented the extension of the contract with Messi and does not intend to talk to him. As a result, a return to Barcelona seems unrealistic any time soon.
