Uruguayan Leonardo Fernández scored this Sunday in Toluca’s 3-1 win over Santos Laguna, on the second day of the Mexican Clausura tournament.
Ecuadorian Ayrton Preciado overtook Santos Laguna, after which the annotations of Toluca fell, the work of Daniel Álvarez, Fernández and the Brazilian Diego Rigonato.
Toluca reached ninth place in the standings with three points.
Santos, who dominated in the opening minutes, went ahead in the 22nd minute. Uruguayan Brian Lozano took a free kick from the right wing that Preciado converted with his left foot at the far post.
After taking advantage, Santos lowered its intensity in attack and gave the initiative to Toluca.
Brazilian Camilo Sanvezzo shot on goal and goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo half-rejected. The rebound was taken by Álvarez to establish the 1-1 in the 41st minute.
