An Australian court denied the Serb’s appeal against the Government’s decision to revoke his visa, for which he will be deported and will not play the Australian Open.

The ATP, which manages the professional men’s tennis circuit, considered this Sunday that the expulsion of Novak Djokovic from Australia “it puts an end to a series of deeply unfortunate events.”

“The decision issued today (Sunday) to confirm the australian visa cancellation de Novak Djokovic ends a series of deeply unfortunate events”, the ATP wrote, adding that decisions “relating to public health issues must be respected”.

“However we got here, Novak is one of the greatest champions in our sport and his absence from the Australian Open is a loss for tennis”, continues the text.

“We know how difficult these last few days have been for Novak and how much he wanted to defend his title in Melbourne. We wish him the best and can’t wait to see him back on the slopes very soon.”, added the instance.

“The ATP continues to strongly recommend vaccination to all players”, concludes the statement, issued hours after the Australian Federal Court rejected the appeal of the No. 1 in the world against the annulment of his visa and thus confirmed his expulsion from the country. (D)
