Ligue 1 leaders PSG beat Brest 2-0 with Mbappé goal

This Saturday, the Paris Saint Germain beat Brest, at home, by 2 to 0, for the 21st round of the League 1. The match, played at Parc des Princes, featured goals from Kylian Mbappé and Thilo Kehrer.

With the result, the team from the capital remains in the lead and has 50 points – 11 more than Nice. The team from the west of the country has 25 points and occupies the 13th position of the French Championship.

PSG returns to the field on Sunday (23), at 16:45 (Brasília time), when they receive Reims for the national competition. Brest, in turn, faces the Little at home on Saturday at 1:00 pm.

The game – The start of the duel had few real opportunities, amid uninspired performance by the teams. However, it was the home side, under Mauricio Pochettino, who opened the scoring, while Michel Der Zakarian’s side bet on a solid defensive display.

In the 32nd minute of the first half, Mbappé received a pass from Georginio Wijnaldum at the edge of the area, cut to the middle and kicked low in the right corner of the goalkeeper. The ball hit the post and crossed the line, to enshrine a beautiful goal by PSG’s top scorer of the season.

The hosts returned from the break at a high pace and extended the score at nine minutes. Nuno Mendes made a beautiful move on the left and crossed low to Kehrer, who only completed it to the bottom of the goal and secured the victory by 2 to 0.

Lens bate Saint-Etienne

Also this Saturday, Lens beat Saint-Étienne, away from home, by 2-1. The duel that took place at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium had the score open in the 38th minute of the first half, with Ryad Boudebouz, for the home team. In the 32nd minute of the complementary stage, Florian Sotoca equalized and Seko Fofana, at 50, guaranteed the visitors’ triumph.

With the victory, Lens occupies the 4th position of the French Championship and has 33 points. Saint-Étienne, who has 12, is the bottom of the competition after 20 disputed clashes.

Lens returns to the pitch on Saturday, at 17:00 (Brasília time), when it receives the Olympique de Marseille, third place. Saint-Étienne, in turn, visits the Lyonon Friday at the same time.
