Brighton seek a draw against Crystal Palace at home in the Premier League

This Friday, Brighton drew with Crystal Palace, at home, 1-1, for the 22nd round of the English Premier League. The match, played at Amex Stadium, featured an own goal by Joachim Andersen for the home team, while Conor Gallagher scored for the visitors.

With the result, the club from the south of England occupies the 8th position of the Premier League and has 28 points. With 24, the London team is 11th in the table.

Brighton return to the field on Tuesday, at 17:00 (Brasília time), when they face the vice-leader Chelsea at home. Crystal Palace, in turn, receives the Liverpool on Sunday (23), at 11 am.

The game – The home team, coached by Graham Potter, was superior in the first half: they attacked Patrick Vieira’s team, dominated possession and almost opened the scoring twice. Pascal Gross missed a penalty in the 36th minute and, three minutes later, Neal Maupay had a goal disallowed after consulting VAR. That’s because, before swinging the net, the French forward shared it with goalkeeper Jack Butland, who had already held the ball.

The complementary stage was also busy and, like the initial one, had Brighton’s superiority. However, who opened the scoring was Crystal Palace.

In the 25th minute, Jeffrey Schlupp went to the end line and passed behind, triggering Gallagher, who pushed to the bottom of the goal. Better in the duel, Brighton continued to press and, in the 42nd minute, secured the tie at home, after an own goal by Andersen, who tried to deflect Maupay’s low cross.
