The organizers have published a framework plan for the first days of the Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne. The first round will only be played on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th January. On Monday, in Australia, we will only see him who will fight for the promotion with the Belarusian Yer Gerasimov. Later it will be only more interesting for Hurkacz – in the third and fourth rounds, respectively, he can meet Aslan Karacewa and, while in the quarter-finals he would face a duel with.

The other four will compete on Tuesday 18 January. In the first round, Iga Świątek will face the British, who was promoted after three qualifying rounds. in turn, he will fight for the second round of the Australian Open with Latvian Anastasia Sevastova, while the duel with Andreas Seppi from Italy awaits. Magdalena Fręch will have the hardest time, because her rival is the Romanian Simona Halep.

At the moment, the starting times of the matches are not known, but the tournament organizers are required to provide them by Sunday, January 16. The best in last year’s edition of the Australian Open was Iga Świątek, who reached the fourth round – in it she lost 6: 3, 1: 6, 4: 6 with Romania. Hurkacz then surprisingly lost 6: 3, 3: 6, 6: 3, 5: 7, 3: 6 to Mikael Ymer in the first round.
