Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic explained the inconsistencies in the documents required to enter Australia. The athlete published the corresponding statement on his Instagram account.
According to the first racket of the world, an employee from his team filled out the declaration, who made a mistake, noting that Djokovic was in one place for 14 days before the trip. In fact, the tennis player was in two countries: Serbia and Spain.
“My agent sincerely apologizes for the administrative error because he checked the wrong box. It was a human error, and certainly not deliberate, ”he wrote.
Australian border officials are currently investigating possible document inconsistencies. Earlier it was reported that there are several inconsistencies in the athlete’s PCR tests. It is not yet known whether this could be the basis for the cancellation of the visa.
On January 10, Djokovic won an appeal for deportation from Australia. The court agreed with the statement that the Serb had provided all the documents to enter the country.
On January 5, Djokovic was denied entry to Australia, as his visa did not imply entering into it data on a medical withdrawal from vaccination against COVID-19. The athlete planned to take part in the Australian Open, which will take place from January 17 to 30.
