Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Alisson and Alexander-Arnold have returned to training after recovering from Covid-19. The duo was in isolation and is now available to take the field on Thursday, against Arsenal.
The team faces Gunners in the League Cup semi-final. Due to the numerous cases of covid-19 in Liverpool, the match was postponed and rescheduled for this Thursday, at 16:45 (GMT), at Anfield.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson trained yesterday. Divock Origi and Thiago Alcântara didn’t. That’s basically it”, said Klopp.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Naby Keita compete in the African Cup of Nations and are out of the duel. The coach also commented on the situation of Robbo, who took a hit in the last match. According to him, the athlete “is fine”, but he did not say if he will go to the field or not.
Harvey Elliott, who has not played since suffering an ankle fracture in September 2021, is expected to return to training with the squad soon.
“Harvey looks really promising on the field right now. He hasn’t trained with the team yet, but I don’t think he’s too far away from participating in activities with the squad,” Klopp said.
