Olympic champion in ice dancing Natalya Bestemyanova called Belgian Luna Hendrix the main rival of Russian figure skaters at the European Championships. Her words are quoted by “Sport-Express”.
“I really hope that our girls will be able to win all the awards. Luna Hendrix will also fight for the podium with our girls, ”Bestemyanova shared. She noted that her favorite is 15-year-old Russian champion Kamila Valieva.
Bestemyanova expressed hope that the Russian team will successfully perform at the European Championship. She stressed that in almost all types of domestic figure skaters can take first places.
The 2022 European Championship will be held in Tallinn from 12 to 16 January. The Russian team in women’s single skating will be represented, in addition to Valieva, by Alexander Trusov and Anna Shcherbakova. The Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing a month later.
