Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko said that the Bellator promotion has plans to organize another tournament in Russia. He spoke about this at a press conference, reports Sport24.
The 45-year-old heavyweight, when asked about his next fight, said he would build on Bellator’s plans. According to Emelianenko, the promotion is interested in holding another major tournament in Russia.
Emelianenko will fight in the main battle of the first Bellator tournament in Russia. American Timothy Johnson will be his rival. The event will take place on October 23 in Moscow.
Emelianenko will perform in Russia for the first time since June 2016. Then he fought in the framework of Fight Nights Global and defeated Fabio Maldonado.
Another American promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has already held events in Russia three times. Two events were held in Moscow, one in St. Petersburg.
