Djokovic accused of falsifying coronavirus tests

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic could have falsified a positive coronavirus test. Der Spiegel states this.

According to the German publication that accused the athlete, there are several inconsistencies in his PCR tests. According to the documents provided by the Serbian national team, the test results appeared in the system at 20:19 on December 16. However, data from the Serbian base indicate that it happened at 14:21 on December 26. At the same time, the data on the negative test coincide and refer to 16:43 on December 22.

It also revealed inconsistencies in the numbers under which the tests are indicated in the database. The positive test was registered under the number 7371999, and the negative – 7320919. Thus, the test, which, according to the information of the Serbian team, was passed earlier, appeared in the database later.

Earlier on January 11, it became known that a Serbian tennis player could receive a prison sentence for providing false information when entering Australia. According to The Age, the 34-year-old athlete, upon entering Australia, stated that he remained in one country 14 days before arrival, although he was in Spain and Serbia.

On January 10, Djokovic won an appeal for deportation from Australia. The court agreed with the statement that the Serb had provided all the documents to enter the country.

On January 5, Djokovic was denied entry to Australia, as his visa did not imply the entry into it of data on a medical withdrawal from vaccination against COVID-19. The athlete planned to take part in the Australian Open, which will take place from January 17 to 30.
