The “KamAZ-Master” responded to the accusations of cheating on the “Dakar” from the Dutchman

The Russian KamAZ-master team has responded to accusations of cheating at the Dakar rally in Saudi Arabia by Dutch driver Maurik van den Hevel of the International team. Their statement is quoted by Championship.com.

The team called the opponents’ statements incorrect, and stressed that they did not have the opportunity to get more information. “It’s just that our trucks are faster. We would be glad to have more competition: it would be good for sports, but it would be more fun for us, ”they noted.

On January 10, van den Hevel said that KamAZ-Master has equipment that gives them additional information on the waypoints of the special stage. He called the impossibility of defeating the Russians unfair.

Van den Hevel retired from the Dakar in the seventh stage, crashing his truck. At the moment, the overall standings of the race are headed by three Russian crews.

The race takes place in Saudi Arabia for the third year in a row. The competition started on January 1 and will end on January 14, 2022.
