The Peruvian Free Spirit, from stud La Patrona, won the first classic of 2022, run on the track of the Miguel Salem Dibo racetrack last Sunday in honor of the Association of Equestrian Professionals. The winner showed his ability because, although he came out last, he advanced strongly in the 1,400 meters and got the reward in 1 minute, 28 seconds and 92 hundredths, with the mount of Henry Morán.

Shazaam took command of the actions, followed by Balalaika, Coincidente and Elmer, who left behind their rivals, including Free Spirit, who started among the last. Halfway through it looked like Shazaam and Elmer would be fighting for victory, but Free Spirit took third at the turn. Such was his momentum that he went ahead, to beat Kike and Elmer, who preceded him on the album in that order.

Members of the Association of Equestrian Professionals awarded a trophy to Salomón Dumani, from stud La Patrona, thanks to Free Spirit.

Meanwhile, La Patrona’s block closed with two victories by prevailing with Baruka, who also looked like Henry Morán to triumph in the 1,300 meters with a time of 1 minute, 21 seconds and 7 hundredths. In the seventh, Grito de Amor prevailed, led by Joffre Mora, with 1 minute, 20 seconds 46 hundredths, in 1,300 meters.
