Álex Cevallos recommends Emelec to hire Sergio ‘Chiquito’ Romero, ‘hierarchy goalkeeper’

The former goalkeeper of the electric ones seems dissatisfied with the national quota of goalkeepers that the Bombillo has presented this season.

Álex Cevallos, former Emelec goalkeeper in the 90s and now owner of a restaurant, did not hold his tongue when recommending options that could reinforce the arc of the millionaire table, after EL UNIVERSO revealed on Saturday that the Blue directive contemplates lending one of its four goalkeepers in order to try to sign another outfield player.

For this season, in which Emelec has to compete in LigaPro Serie A, the group stage of the Copa Libertadores and the Ecuador Cup, coach Ismael Rescalvo has Pedro Ortiz (starter), Adrián Bone (first alternate), John Mero and Justyn Mina .

President Nassib Neme has already anticipated that, if the institution intends to hire another foreign reinforcement, one of the goalkeepers must go on loan to another team.

“The squad is complete with 28 players, but it is highly possible that we will loan one of our goalkeepers. That being the case, we would sign another outfield player. We will have to wait, ”said Neme.

But Cevallos seems dissatisfied with the national quota of goalkeepers that the club has presented, because through a tweet he mentioned three names of foreign goals that according to his criteria have “hierarchy.”

His candidates are the Uruguayan Sergio Rochet, the Colombian Álvaro Montero and the Argentine Sergio Romero (Venezia FC).

Rochet, 28, is a member of the Uruguayan National; while Montero, 26, plays for Millonarios de Colombia. While Chiquito Romero, runner-up in the world with Argentina in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and a former Manchester United player, is 34 years old and is currently the goal of Venezia FC in Serie A in Italy.
