Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic was arrested by Australian authorities. This was reported by journalist Ksenia Pavlovich in Twitter with reference to the father of the athlete Srdjan.
So, it became known that the 34-year-old athlete was arrested, despite the court order. Pavlovich noted that they want to deport the athlete from the country.
Earlier on January 10, Djokovic won an appeal for deportation from Australia. The court agreed with the statement that the Serb had provided all the documents to enter Australia. At the same time, it was noted that the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship has the ability to expel an athlete from the country by his own personal decision.
On January 5, Djokovic was denied entry to Australia, as his visa did not imply the entry into it of data on a medical withdrawal from vaccination against COVID-19. The athlete planned to take part in the Australian Open, which will take place from January 17 to 30.
