The soap opera involving the future of striker Edinson Cavani seems to be coming to an end. Desired by Corinthians, the Uruguayan should remain at Manchester United, according to coach Ralf Rangnick, who is interested in working with the athlete.
In an interview with journalist Simon Stone, from BBC Sport, the German coach claims that he had a conversation with Cavani last Thursday, in which the striker would have confirmed his presence. Rangnick also cited the player’s importance to his plans ahead of the English team.
“We talked for almost half an hour. He told me he will definitely stay. I can count on him to do his best and be a role model for young players,” he said.

At United since the end of November, Ralf Ragnick has already expressed his desire to keep the striker. In a press conference last week, the coach “barred” the Uruguayan’s departure. “He knows I definitely won’t let him go. For me, he is a very important player for the rest of the season.”
In the current season, Cavani entered the field 11 times and scored 2 goals. In all, the athlete has 50 games and 19 goals for Manchester United.
