Ralf Rangnick explains why he enjoys the Italians and Danes at the European Championships, which strategic mistakes weakened the DFB-Elf – and which lessons German football should learn.

Milan, Chelsea, Schalke, Frankfurt, German national team – when coaches or sports directors were recently sought in top football, Ralf Rangnick often came into conversation. In the end it didn’t really fit anywhere. It is true that more and more trainers and skilled workers are successful at home and abroad, which were shaped by Rangnick’s two major projects, TSG Hoffenheim (2006 to 2011) and RB Leipzig / Salzburg (2012 to 2019).
