Messi is missing from Paris Saint-Germain for the match against Lyon

The Argentine Lionel Messi will be another absence from Paris Saint-Germain for the duel against Lyon this Sunday. The ball rolls at 16:45 (Brasília time) for the French Championship.

After recovering from covid-19, the player traveled to Paris last Wednesday. However, he has not been released to train with the rest of the PSG squad for the last three days. The club announced that Messi will continue with a recovery plan after contracting the virus.

The striker is following a specific plan to reinvigorate himself physically, but coach Mauricio Pochettino chose not to force the player and will only put him on the field when he is fully recovered.

Defender Sergio Ramos, in turn, has great chances of being among the holders. The Spaniard has been training without any problems since the beginning of the year.

The French team also confirmed the casualties of Ángel Di María, Julian Draxler, Danilo Pereira, Layvin Kurzawa and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who remain in isolation after being diagnosed with covid-19.

In addition, Neymar is still undergoing treatment for a sprained left ankle. The Brazilian should return to training in three weeks and his return to the pitch is scheduled for February.
