Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, with a hamstring injury, will be out for eight weeks. The announcement was made this Friday, at a press conference, by coach Brendan Rodgers.
After injuring his thigh in a 1-0 Premier League win over Liverpool on 28 December, Jamie was supposed to be out for three or four weeks until further tests made the diagnosis worse. “The only good news” is that no surgery will be necessary, added Rodgers.
Leicester have already had to postpone three Premier League games in recent weeks. Two of them were due to lack of enough players, injured or infected by covid, to compose the team.
Heavily disfigured with injured players or playing for the African Cup of Nations (CAN), current FA Cup winners Leicester will start defending their title this Saturday in a home game against Watford.
