The midfielder returns precisely to the country where he reached the peak of his career. Coutinho started his career at Vasco and went through Inter Milan and Espanyol. The peak of the athlete’s career occurred between 2013 and 2018, when he defended Liverpool.
Later, the midfielder was signed by Barcelona. However, he did not live up to the high expectations created. In 2019, he was loaned to Bayern Munich, where he won the Champions League, but as a reserve.
Back at Barça, Coutinho suffered injuries. This season, despite having recovered, the player was little used by coach Xavi Hernández.
At Aston Villa, the midfielder hopes to rediscover good football in the year in which the World Cup takes place in Qatar. Fundamental in the beginning of Tite in the Brazilian team, Coutinho lost space among the called up and should make an effort to regain the coach’s confidence in 2022.
