An image of misery and despair. Yes, these are the places of Poles in the 70th TCS

The first part of the current season of the World Cup for Poles was very unsuccessful. The white-and-reds usually failed and often had problems with the promotion to the final 30. It was similar in the 4-Hills-Tournament, so their positions in the general classification of the series were very low.

Performances of Polish jumpers at the Four Hills Tournament

The 70th anniversary was totally unsuccessful. The leader of the Polish team performed in the first two competitions – in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In both cases he jumped 118 meters, which gave him 41st and 47th positions respectively. The 34-year-old thus did not score a single point in the TCS general classification.

He also started off the cycle badly – from 38th place in Oberstdorf (114 meters). The following competitions were much more successful for him. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen he was 11th (135.5 and 131 meters), in Bischofshofen he was 18th (130 and 130 meters), and in Innsbruck he was 13th (128 and 134 meters).

showed a very uneven form. He finished the first competition in 28th place (111.5 and 113.5 meters), then he was 39th (126 meters), then he was 21st (128.5 and 131.5 meters), and at the end of the competition he was 27. (128 and 123 meters).

As for the remaining Poles, he scored only 23rd in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (127 and 132.5 meters), while in Bischofshofen he was 30 (124 and 125 meters).

The final classification of the 70th 4-Hills-Tournament

The best jumper of the 70th 4-Hills-Tournament was Ryoyu Kobayashi, who won this cycle for the second time in his career (for the first time in the 2018/19 season). Marius Lindvik was second (he was also second in the 2019/20 season), and third was Halvor Egner Granerud, who improved his previous year’s result by one position.

The best among Polish jumpers was Piotr Żyła, who finished the competition in the 15th position. Dawid Kubacki was 22nd, Jakub Wolny was 35, and Paweł Wąsek was 48th. Andrzej Stękała took 51st place, and the weakest Pole was Kamil Stoch, who ultimately was 53. And such results, especially compared to previous seasons, are a picture of poverty and despair.
