Kownacki revealed the plan. A duel from the “to be or not to be” category

For several years he was the best Polish heavyweight and actually the only hope for fighting for the world championship in the royal category. His fight with Robert Helenius was supposed to be just a rub before the fight for the belt. Fin, however, sensationally knocked out the Pole, giving him the first defeat in his career. In October 2020, there was a rematch, in which Kownacki was again sent to the boards.

Fans began to wonder if “Baby Face” should be boxing at all. There are many indications that his offensive style, and at the same time a hole in defense, made him less resistant to blows. Before the fights with Helenius, Kownacki had never been lying on the boards. But even when he won, he collected many blows on his jaw. Perhaps the accumulation of the accepted hits significantly lowered his resistance.

Many boxing experts claim that Kownacki should end his career. – Knowing Adam and his enormous ambitions, I think he will try to go back to boxing. The question is, what level will he be able to return to – said Janusz Pindera, a boxing commentator, from Sport.pl. And it turned out that he was right. Kownacki intends to come back. But there will be no chafing fight. The Pole immediately wants to jump into deep water, although a possible defeat will make him lose his chances of great fights.

Kownacki versus Demirezen?

Baby Face is aware, however, that defeating an established opponent can quickly restore him to his place in the elite. At the beginning he challenged Dereck Chisora, and now another competitor. In the “In the ring” magazine, he stated that he would fight Ali Eren Demirezen, who beat Gerald Washington a few days ago, who was also beaten by Kownacki in the past.

– If I would not be able to beat such Demirezen, then you have to look for another profession – said Kownacki.

Demirezen has fought 16 fights in his career, of which he won 15, the German of Turkish origin lost only once. In 2019, Efe Ajagba defeated Demirezen.

Kownacki announced that in 2022 he wants to fight two fights to return to the TOP 10 heavyweight at the end of the year.
