Representative of a Uruguayan company for Latin America indicates that the next edition of Ecuadorian football can be seen through an ESPN application.
The possibility that the parties of the LigaPro they can be observed again by CNT and suspended in DirecTV is an option that he anticipates could happen, according to the GolTV representative for Latin America, Osvaldo Gimenez.
“We are in a legal conflict with Claro and the ex-TVCable (today Xtrim TVCable). With CNT we are looking for a mediation and in the next ten days we will have a meeting with the commercial part of CNT, looking for an agreement ”, said the businessman.
“Claro and TVCable had to pay 12 annual installments and they stopped paying usThat is why we are in conflict. In no other country happened to GolTV what happened in Ecuador, where the cable companies did not pay. It did not occur in Uruguay, Venezuela or Peru. Even so, GolTV has fulfilled its commitments and will continue to pay, ”the television representative reiterated.
Giménez indicated that it was a unique case in the countries where they have television rights. “What happened to us is a tragedy because what we live and what happened to us as a company is that of four cable companies, three will stop paying unilaterally with a current contract, it is a complicated issue ”.
“The different thing that is happening today is that DirecTV has stopped paying television rights, we have not paid for 45 days, a debt that should have been covered on December 20. It is a month that expires after 30 days and they have not covered. If this situation continues, It would be a legal issue that I do not handle, but that can cause DirecTV in the new season to not be able to have Ecuadorian football on its screen ”, added Giménez.
EL UNIVERSO newspaper contacted DirecTV to inquire about the alleged debt and it was made known that the executives who could respond were on vacation; however, they said that there is no outstanding debt with GolTV.
New way of watching football
Giménez anticipated that for the new season of Ecuadorian football he will be able to see it by the Star Play app, from ESPN, and that he hopes to go out on the state cable company. “We hope that an agreement will be reached with CNT because it is the official channel and the Government can do many things related to youth football and television. The image of football, of the footballer is very important in any society, that is why the sport of football as recreation in the world has a value that in South America should have it higher because it is the best quarry that Europe has of good football players ”.
“We are in a very positive situation with the new ESPN application, we are optimistic and hope that DirecTV will be overcome and if they consider that they cannot join us, we will continue with the application and we hope that CNT will reach an agreement with us in the coming weeks ”.
Ecuador’s soccer can be seen with the new technology. “With the new arrangements we hope that football will be seen not only by cable, by application, but also by phoneWe hope to reach an agreement so that soccer can have a greater diffusion, so that journalists continue to professionalize, continue trying to make this product better and reach all corners of Ecuador, which is the great challenge from day one. We didn’t want it to be a premium product, but basic, so that it reaches the whole world ”.
The businessman made a comparison of what he received before and what enters Ecuadorian football today for television rights, “We have generated between 120 and 128 million dollars from a product that when we arrived charged 15 million dollars. The same companies that today appear as rivals said that soccer was worth 14 million, today they continue to say that soccer is worth that figure. We are convinced that it is a product worth 30 million dollars a year and for that we must prioritize it, give it value ”. (D)
