Independiente del Valle and Corinthians reached an agreement for the transfer of Júnior Sornoza to the monarch team of LigaPro Serie A, since the Rayados announced on Wednesday the renewal of the offensive midfielder’s contract for three seasons.
“OFFICIAL l @JuniorSornoza renews its contract with @IDV_EC for 3 years,” the club reported on its Twitter account.
Sornoza, 27, played for Independiente on loan from Corinthians, since it was the Brazilian club that owns his pass card with a labor bond that expired in December 2022.
After the announcement on December 28, when through its social channels it was ensured that Sornoza, the scorer Jonatan Bauman and the veteran midfielder Cristian Pellerano will continue in the first team after reaching an agreement with the leadership, Independiente del Valle made this formal Wednesday the purchase of down payment rights.
The Manabí team played 20 games with the black blue shirt, between LigaPro Serie A and Copa Sudamericana in the 2021 season, scoring three goals (two of them in the finals against Emelec).
In recent days, Sornoza asserted that one of his wishes as a professional footballer is to be able to play for Barcelona Sporting Club, a team of which he has considered himself a fan since childhood.
However, he clarified that he was “focused” on Independiente and hoped that the club could make “the effort” to keep him on the squad for the 2022 season.
“One of my dreams as a child was to be able to wear the Idol’s shirt, as a child I was a fan of Barcelona SC. I have not been given so far, God willing that later that dream can be fulfilled ”, he revealed to Tele Premier.
With a view to his participation in the Copa Libertadores de América, Independiente del Valle has also hired striker Jaime Ayoví and ratified fellow attacker Stiven Plaza for one more season.
Defender Luis Segovia could be transferred to Brazil, according to the player himself in statements on Instagram Live with the DoubleCinco account.
