Barcelona beat Linares this Wednesday, by 2-1, and advanced in the Copa del Rey, in a game marked by the debut of full-back Daniel Alves.
In a lukewarm start to the game, Barcelona managed to control the ball, but they had a lot of difficulties to create goal chances. Linares, with a retiring style, managed to stop the opposing team and tried to find opportunities in counterattacks and crosses in the area.
On minute 18, the home team opened the scoring with a beautiful shot in the area for Hugo Díaz to head in, taking it from Brazilian goalkeeper Neto.
Xavi Hernández’s team sought the game from the sides of the field, as the central zone was very populated. The plays with the wingers and with Daniel Alves, who was positioned as a winger, were the most dangerous, but not enough to touch the scoreboard in the first half.
In the second stage, Barça continued with a shortage in the creation of plays. The team had more than 80% of the possession, but with only one submission in the opposing goal.
With 17 minutes, Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé received it in midfield and took advantage of the space given by Linares to progress with the ball to the entrance of the area, finishing in the left corner and tying the match, counting with a failure by goalkeeper Brimah.
Five minutes later, 22-year-old forward Ferran Jutglà came in down the left side, slashed two markers and hit with precision to turn the game in Barcelona’s favour.
After a significant improvement in the culés, the pair Dembélé and Dani Alves showed a lot of connection, being responsible for keeping the team in the attack zone, controlling the match and ensuring the victory of the Catalan team.
