Marinho poses with Kaio Jorge and wins a former Santos teammate jersey

This Wednesday (5), forward Marinho, from Santos, posted a photo on his social networks with Kaio Jorge, former Peixe player, who now defends Juventus. In the photo, an idol from the Baixada team holds a jersey for the Italian team, which he won by his former club partner.

“I wish you every success in the world, brother. May 2022 be an incredible year. I love you, my kid,” wrote Marinho.

Alongside Kaio Jorge, the 11 shirt experienced one of the best phases of his career. Editing an attacking duo, the two reached the final of the Libertadores 2020 with the Santos team. Even with the loss to Palmeiras in the decision, Marinho was named the best player of the tournament and won the King of America award.

However, after the departure of Kaio Jorge and other standouts, such as Pituca, Luan Peres and Lucas Veríssimo, Santos and Marinho himself had a drop in performance, and the 2021 season was not the best. The team led by Carille finished the Brazilian Championship in 10th position and did not win any title.

On the other hand, Kaio Jorge has yet to adapt to the Juventus team. So far, the young man revealed by the Santos base has only played nine games for the Turin team, the last one being on December 21, when he entered the last minute of the victory over Cagliari.

According to Italian newspaper Calciomercato, the 19-year-old is in the crosshairs of another Italian first division club, Sampdoria. Bought by the Europeans for 12 million euros, the ex-boy from Vila has also been the target of interest from Palmeiras.
