Nurmagomedov stood up for the people of Dagestan

Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Khabib Nurmagomedov stood up for the Dagestani people. He expressed his position to Sport-Express.

“Some character throws a taxi driver – everywhere they write a Dagestani. Someone beats someone – Dagestanis write everywhere. We also have feelings – these Dagestanis have three and a half million of us, if not four. I think it is wrong – when one person does the wrong thing – to write Dagestanis, Dagestanis in all the media, ”he said.

The athlete added that among this nation there are intellectuals, scientists and doctors – people who very worthily represent not only Dagestan, but all of Russia.

Earlier, Nurmagomedov spoke about the attitude towards the incident with the beating of passenger Roman Kovalev by Dagestanis in the Moscow metro. According to him, no sane person can support this act. The athlete also explained that his joke about the incident was “more of a joke.”

On October 13, Nurmagomedov, in a joking manner, drew a parallel between the beating of Kovalev and his fight with Conor McGregor. “Where is my medal from [главы Следственного комитета России Александра] Bastrykin? I was also beaten by a crowd of Dagestanis, ”the athlete wrote on behalf of the Irishman.

Kovalev was beaten by three natives of Dagestan after he stood up for a girl in the Moscow metro. The intruders were detained and criminal proceedings were instituted against them. The victim was hospitalized with fractures. Bastrykin presented the victim with the Valor and Courage medal.
