Arrival of reinforcements
For the defense of his title, the Atlas of Argentine technical director Diego Cocca has not made any contracts although the closing of external signings will be until Tuesday, February 1.
In contrast, the Cruz Azul of Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso has registered five players to replace the notable exits; Mexicans Alejandro Mayorga (defense), Erik Lira (middle), Carlos Rodríguez (middle) and Uriel Antuna (midfielder) arrived for this tournament, plus Uruguayan Christian Tabó (winger).
Forced to be champion after suffering painful and scandalous eliminations in the previous two league games, the América of Argentine technical director Santiago Solari strengthened its midfield with the additions of the Mexican Jonathan dos Santos and the Chilean Diego Valdés.
Pumas de la UNAM and Chivas del Guadalajara, two of the considered great teams, have disappointed their fans in terms of signings; the cats have not hired anyone and the flock has only added Roberto Alvarado at the wheel.
The Tigres strengthened their already powerful squad with the arrival of left-back Jesús Angulo from champion Atlas and attacking midfielder Sebastián Córdova, a promising player from America.
