Experiencing a great phase of the season, forward Karim Benzema, from Real Madrid, was nominated by France Football for the best player in the world in 2021, the traditional Golden Ball. The French is part of a list of 30 names competing for the individual award, which will be delivered on November 29, in a ceremony to be held in Paris.
Roberto Carlos, idol of the Merengues, declared his support for Benzema in the dispute for the Golden Ball.
“Even if he was on any other team in the world…my Golden Ball would be Karim’s. Tops of the tops”, wrote the former player.
In 2021, Benzema was champion of Spanish Championship and semifinalist of Champions League. This season, the striker has taken the field ten times, scored ten goals and gave seven assists.
Recently, the player helped France to be champions of the League of Nations. In the tournament’s decision, Benzema scored one of the goals for the 2-1 victory over Spain.
