Doctor of Medical Sciences, Chief Physician of “Invitro-Moscow” Sergei Khomyakov named the most dangerous and safe winter sports. He told Izvestia about this.

According to him, freestyle skiing, ski jumping, alpine skiing, skating, short track speed skating, snowboarding, tobogganing and hockey are considered the most dangerous. Less dangerous: curling, biathlon, cross-country skiing, combined skiing, figure skating, speed skating, bobsleigh.

As for non-sporting disciplines, ice skating keeps the palm in terms of injury rate. Skiing is considered the safest.

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow, a 15-year-old teenager died after crashing into a tree while descending on a tubing from an unequipped slope. The young man died on the spot from his injuries.

Before that, in the Murmansk region, a boy rolled down a mountain in a “cheesecake” and fell under the wheels of a dump truck. He rolled off the snowy mountain onto the roadway on which the truck was moving. The child was hit by the wheels, and the car ran over him. The victim with fractures was admitted to the hospital.
