Dyego Coelho is the new commander of the Sub-23 category of Portimonense. The 38-year-old coach, who worked for Corinthians, was introduced this Monday in Portugal.
“I am very happy to be here. I thank Portimonense for the confidence in my work and I see it as a great opportunity in my career. I’m sure we’ll be able to do a good job of this sequel to the season,” Dyego said.
For Timão, the coach disappointed leading the U-20. On two occasions, the former full-back even assumed the professional temporarily, but was unsuccessful. He also worked at Metropolitano and Inter de Limeira.
The coach has been in Portugal since the end of 2021 and has been leading the training of the category, which will face the second phase of the Revelation League in early 2022. The debut should take place on the 11th, against Benfica.
“Portimonense had a great campaign in the first phase and we are going to work to continue at the top. You can already see the quality of the young people that the club has and the adaptation has been very positive. We have just over a week to get even more ready in this decisive phase”, analyzed the commander.
