The Ecuadorian fighter was announced through a post from the promoter Probox Promotions.

The company Probox Promotions announced on December 31 the return of the Ecuadorian welterweight Érick Bone to a boxing card in the United States, to be held on January 21 at the White Sands Event Center, in Plant City, Florida.

“On January 21 Probox Promotions presents ‘It’s Time to Fight’ in Plant City, Florida,” reads a post on Instagram in which the figure of Bone and his contender is shown.

The 33-year-old from Porto (25-6) will face local Mark Reyes Jr. (14-1), in the 147-pound division, in one of the main fights that will serve as a prelude to the duel between Kanat Islam (27 -0) and Jimmy Kelly (24-2).

‘Érick Bone has to qualify for the top 15 at welterweight; is not far from fighting the world title of the World Boxing Council ‘

In the co-main event, José Miguel Borrego (19-3) will face Peter Dobson (14-0).

Bone returns to the ring after almost a year, when in March 2021 he defeated Mexican José García by technical knockout in the main fight of the promoter Century Boxing in an event organized at the Voz Andes Recording Center, in Quito.

The Manabi, who has 25 wins -12 by knockout-, has been in the ring with world-class boxers such as Shawn Porter and Chris Algieri, both in 2015 in the United States.

In October 2018, he became South American champion of the welterweight division (147 pounds) of the World Boxing Council (WBC). (D)
