After two straight defeats in the Premier League, Brighton visited Everton this Sunday, for the 21st round, and took home the victory by 3-2, moving up to eighth place with 27 points. His opponent remains in 15th place with 19 added.
In the next round, Brighton will host the Crystal Palace on the 14th of this month, at 17:00 (GMT). Everton, in turn, visits Norwich at 12:00 on the 15th.
The game – Everton gave a lot of space in the first half and let Brighton loose on the field. After just three minutes, after a cross into the area, Neal Maupay headed the ball to the ground and Mac Allister, opportunist, opened the scoring.
With 21 minutes left, Dan Burn extended to the team led by Graham Potter. Enock Mwepu turned his head after a corner kick and it was up to the 33rd shirt to head into the goal.
Anthony Gordon then fired on the attack and was knocked down inside the area. The referee was called by VAR and awarded a penalty. Everton had a chance to cash in, but incredibly, Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed the charge.
At the beginning of the second stage, Everton charged a wrong foul and almost gave the ball to the opponent for free, but subsequently redeemed themselves. Anthony Gordon sewed up the defense, kicked from the edge of the area and had a deflection for the ball to die in the back of the net.
At 26 minutes, with category, Mac Allister left his second in the game. Leandro Trossard received it calmly from the side and passed it to Mwepu. The midfielder gave a spectacular touch to the back and it was up to the 10 shirt to make a great goal with his right foot, in the angle.
In less than five minutes, Jonjoe Kenny put the ball in the area and Gordon, again, used the cross to finish and close the score 3-2.
