With Militao failing, Real Madrid loses to Getafe, but remains in the lead

THE Real Madrid stumbled in their first match in 2022. This Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti’s men lost to Getafe by 1-0, away from home, in a game valid for the 19th round of the spanish championship.

Despite the defeat, the Merengues remain isolated at the top of the tournament, with 46 points, but second-placed Sevilla, with two games in hand, could close the gap. Getafe, despite the victory, is in 16th position, with 18 points.

On Wednesday, Real changes focus and faces Alcoyano, away from home, for the Copa do Rei, at 5:30 pm (GMT). On the other hand, Getafe focuses on La Liga and faces Sevilla, next Sunday, at 12:15 pm.
