At the moment, Janne Ahonen is waiting for the appropriate equipment that he will be able to use during the competition. Until now, he had used too small a wetsuit and too short skis, which belonged to his son Miko. Pasi Ahonen, Janne’s brother admitted in an interview with “Ilta-Sanomat” that the 44-year-old could take part in the competition again, even as a pre-jumper. “If he arranges the equipment earlier, it is not impossible that he will even be able to compete,” he said.
Janne Ahonen competed in the official competition for the last time in the spring of 2018. Since then the 44-year-old was to be seen on the ski jumping hills only six times.
