Baskonia prevails with authority to the leader Barcelona in the Buesa (94-75)

Bitci Baskonia shook Barça this Thursday, which they defeated 94-75 in a game with great success corresponding to the 18th round of the Euroleague in which the Buesa Arena recovered its essence.

The locals broke the game in an almost perfect third quarter in attack and signed their victory with 14 triples, against a blurred continental leader, that he did not find the antidote to protect himself from the rain of points that fell from all sides.

In fact, six Baskonia players scored more than ten points, among which the Lithuanian Rokas Giedraitis stood out with 20 points and five triples, although others such as the Lithuanian Simone Fontecchio or the North Americans Wade Baldwin and Steven Enoch were at his height, above all, in a great second part of the premises.

The Catalans began scoring with greater fluidity, which allowed them to go ahead 20-23, after the first ten minutes.

The two squads adjusted their defense and stopped the offensive production of their rival in a second more physical assault that ended in 40-34 after a first half that left the Catalans feeling better than the Barça fans.

Great second part

Baskonia maintained the level after passing through the changing rooms and had up to 22 points of advantage in a third quarter that culminated in 74-54 in his favor.

Nine points from Steven Enoch ruined every attempt to react by a Barça that bet everything on their individual game in the last round, which served to confirm Baskonia’s seventh win in the Euroleague by 94-75.
