Deputy Zhurova: Trump is able to influence the lifting of sanctions from Russian sports
The Olympic champion in speed skating, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova called a person who is able to influence the lifting of sanctions from Russian sports. Her words are given by “All -Sport.”
Zhurova considered that US President Donald Trump can affect international sports federations. She emphasized that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) should return to Russia all the previous Olympic quotas.
Earlier, the presidential candidate of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Morinari Vatanabe, said that he would like to return Russians to international competitions. At the same time, he emphasized that athletes have no opportunity to speak under the flag of the country before the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
At the beginning of 2022, most international organizations removed Russian and Belarusian athletes from tournaments on the recommendation of the IOC. Representatives of the countries were admitted to the summer games-2024 in the neutral status with a number of reservations and restrictions.
