He considered such competitions stupidity. “I’ll say more: our foreign colleagues think so, share on the sidelines. They perfectly understand where the money is spectators. The Olympiad without Russia is about nothing. It will not fly, ”Degtyarev said.
Earlier, Degtyarev promised to stand up for Russian athletes that would receive neutral status for speaking at international competitions. “We will not allow anyone to brand the guys, calling them in foreign agents and traitors,” he said.
In February, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) extended sanctions against the Russian national team and did not allow the team to 2026. At the same time, the decision to speak Russians at the Olympics in Italy will be made after the presidential election of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in March 2025.
