The Ministry of Sports of Ukraine deprived the ranks of the Zenit coach Tymoshchuk and Karjakin
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine deprived the title of masters of sports and honored masters of sports coach of the St. Petersburg football club Zenit Anatoly Tymoshchuk and chess player Sergei Karyakin. This was reported on the website of the department.
Three more athletes were included in the list of athletes deprived of these titles. This is the mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, from 1998 to 2000, who played for the Dynamo Kiev, the champion of Ukraine in the academic rowing Larisa Zhalinskaya, who escaped to Russia, as well as the karatist Yevgeny Pilipyuk, who did not return to Ukraine after the tournament in Italy.
On November 18, 2024, the sports arbitration court (CAS) granted Tymoshchuk’s appeal. The former football player was returned to the titles of the winner and silver medalist of the Championship of Ukraine, the holder of the Cup and Super Cup of the country, which he won as part of Shakhtar.
In March of 2022, the Ukrainian football Association deprived Tymoshchuk of the coaching license and selected the titles. In addition, the coach was forbidden to engage in football activities in the country.
