Olympic champion in speed skating, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova said that the return of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva would be unique. Her words are given by the “Match TV”.
Zhurova considered that after passing competitive activities it would be difficult to return for four years. “If it succeeds, this will be an interesting case in the history of figure skating, I wish Camile to happen,” she said.
Earlier it became known that Valieva will decide on the resumption of a career after the end of the disqualification period. It was noted that after removal, an 18-year-old athlete will resume training to understand her condition.
In January 2024, the sports arbitration court disqualified Valiev for four years. In the sample of the skater from December 2021, traces of the forbidden drug trimetasidine were discovered.
