Mishin: Russian figure skating progresses in the conditions of removal
The Honored Coach of the USSR Alexei Mishin appreciated the influence of international removal on Russian figure skating. His words are given by TASS.
“I think that our figure skating not only withstand detachment, but also progresses,” the specialist said. He added that there are growth in some types, but there is no sharp change in some kind of sharp change.
Mishin also explained why Russian figure skating continues to develop. “The pledge is, first of all, in the system that exists in figure skating, in the competition system, selection, small starts,” the coach said.
On December 20, the International Skating Union (ISU) allowed Russians to select the games-2026, which will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina-d’Ampezzo. In qualification competitions, they will be able to take part in one athlete or pair in each discipline. Russian skaters, skaters and representatives of a short track will perform in a neutral status. Since the spring of 2022, Russians have been suspended from international competitions.
