State Duma deputy, former boxing champion Nikolai Valuev criticized the decision of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to demonstrate the champion of the absolute world champion Alexander Usik at a meeting with US President Donald Trump. It is reported by TASS.
He considered the showing the belt inappropriate. “I do not know Trump’s attitude towards Alexander Usik, but it seems to me that Zelensky ruined everything to him, now this belt will be associated with a diplomatic scandal,” added Valuev.
On February 28, Zelensky came to Washington to meet Trump. As a gift, the Ukrainian politician brought Trump to the championship belt of Usik. During the visit, the belt was next to the Ukrainian delegation.
Usyk later said that all championship belts are at his house. He explained that Zelensky gave Trump a special belt. “I know what kind of belt this is, I just can’t say anything to anyone,” Vusik added.
