Rodnina about the call of the IOC to allow Russians to Games 2026: they finally turned on the brains
The three -time Olympic figure skating champion and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina responded to the call of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow Russian athletes before the selection of 2026 games in Italy. Her words are given by the “championship”.
Rodnina with the phrase “Finally turned on the brains!” I appreciated the information. She expressed the hope that the initiative would be accepted for consideration.
Previously, the IOC appealed to the admission of Russians to the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and the International Federation of Sports and Snowboard (FIS). The organization considered that the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, in which 15 Russians took part in a neutral status, became a successful precedent.
Russians and Belarusians do not participate in international competitions by decision of IBU and FIS. The order entered into force in March of 2022 and will act until further notice.
